If the reason for firing Joe Paterno comes down to the pronouncement "that he should have done more", this sets a radical precedent, because the ethical agent is being held up to potentially perfect standard which neither the board could uphold nor the fans.
It asks that a leader (corporate or otherwise) be saintlike. Odd that such a request comes from the one-percenters, where do they get their seal of sanctity from?
