What is truly startling about this video is the manner in which the anchor presents his speech! He is making a direct appeal to the mind and conscience of the audience, the only other prototype of this intimate discourse is a presidential fireside chat or a an evangelical request for funding. Shephard speaks of "facts of the case" as if he were a medical doctor at the very least or a chief in the World Health Organization---alas! he is merely an undereducated 'talking head'. He speaks of truth! People, when is the last time you heard the term 'truth' bandied about on television? Furthermore, his speech (what kind of News this may be I cannot hazard a guess---Doublespeak in its pure form). This is a truly dangerous precedent. I for one, do not watch TV but I know from travel that in airports Fox News is force-fed in every corner of every US airport so that the enforced saturation is nearly 100%
---the other place where TV viewing is mandatory is hospital waiting rooms and medical offices, not to mention every other type of government office (which is nearly 100% saturation) as well. So listen up sheeple to the Gospel according to Shephard Smith, a self-appointed spiritual czar of double-speak. Ironically his three minute speech actually creates even more hysteria---but that is the goal after all, isn't it, Shephard?
